The Ghost of Montana PETITION #1 We the undersigned believe that professional and college sports teams are demeaning Native Americans by using names, logos and mascots that may unintentionally put them in a less-than-favorable light. Since animals are often used for team names, it is by comparison humiliating to pit, for example, a Redskin against a Dolphin, a Brave against a Cardinal or an Indian against an Oriole. We want this changed so that no American is held up to potential ridicule simply because of thoughtless tradition.
